Woman Found Dead Near Yobe University
The lifeless body of a middle-aged woman identified as Falmata was discovered near the Federal University, Gashu’a, in Yobe State.
Residents reportedly found the body on Friday morning, October 17, 2025.
Falmata, said to be a food vendor at the local motor park, also ran an eatery in the area.
Concerned residents have called on the police to track down those responsible for her death and to strengthen security around the community.
“The alleged murder of innocent Falmata raises many unanswered questions after her body was found dumped behind Federal University, Gashu’a. This has sent shockwaves and fear across the town,” a resident, Abubakar Modibbo, wrote.
“Prior to Falmata‘s death, she was a food seller at Kasuwar Gwari, Gashu’a who owned an eatery. She was a resident of Sarkin Hausawa Ward, Abasha, adjacent to Maman Blessing‘s restaurant.
“These experiences are terrifying—and is a great threat to peaceful co-existence of Gashu’a and its inhabitants. Gashu‘a is hitherto a peaceful town—but unfortunately beleaguered by some faceless and bloodthirsty elements.
“It is important that residents should be very vigilant in reporting suspicious groups, persons or any slight maneuvres. Gashu‘a has turned into a hostile surface and recorded similar threats of this kind. May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
