“We’ve adapted to hardship because the government has failed us” — Zlatan Ibile

“We’ve adapted to hardship because the government has failed us” — Zlatan Ibile

Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has stated that citizens have become accustomed to hardship due to the government’s failure to fix the economy.

He made the remark in response to comments by UK rapper Dave, who criticized the contrast between Nigerians spending lavishly in clubs while beggars linger outside.

Speaking on Madame Joyce’s show in the UK, he said:

“We are used to it. That’s how it has always been and the government isn’t doing anything about it.”

He added that hardship has become so normal that people no longer expect anything different.

Zlatan also said some beggars have turned begging into a lifestyle and become entitled even when they receive money every day.

He advised them to find something productive to do instead of depending on handouts.
