US to restrict visas for Nigerians ‘responsible for violating religious freedom’

The United States has announced fresh visa restrictions aimed at Nigerians accused of undermining religious freedom.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio revealed the measure on X on the evening of December 3. He said the restrictions will apply to anyone who “knowingly directs, authorizes, funds, supports, or carries out violations of religious freedom.”
