Police arrest 20-year-old lady for st@bbing pregnant woman in Maiduguri

A five-month pregnant woman, Aisha Musa, was left with multiple st@b wounds after she was allegedly attacked by a 20-year-old woman, Halima Ali Maina, at her home in Njentilo, Maiduguri, Borno State.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, when Halima, a resident of Polo, Maiduguri, reportedly entered Musa’s room without permission before launching the violent attack.

The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim several times in the stomach, chest, back, and face.

Musa was rushed to the Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment and said to be responding well to medical care.

The suspect was apprehended by the Borno Police, and the knife used in the attack has been recovered as evidence.

Sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the police are investigating the case as culpable homicide with grievous hurt, with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) leading the inquiry.
