Gunmen Kidnap Pastor’s Wife and Church Member in Nasarawa

Unidentified gunmen have kidnapped Mrs. Patience Nasamu, wife of Pastor Samuel Nasamu of Word of God Church, Agyaragu, Obi Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, along with a female church member who was visiting.

The attack occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, when the assailants stormed the pastor’s residence, firing shots into the air to force entry. Pastor Nasamu told reporters that the gunmen attempted to break through the windows and doors with a hammer but were blocked by protective barriers.

The attackers fled with the two women, leaving behind the pastor’s three-month-old baby. The incident has thrown the Agyaragu community into fear and confusion.

He said the incident happened immediately after the church service when he stepped out to pray for a sick church member.

The cleric added that his wife could hardly calm herself to explain what was going on when she managed to call.

“I had just stepped out to pray for a sick member when my wife called me. All I could hear was her praying; she couldn’t even explain what was happening. By the time I rushed back, both she and our visitor had been abducted, leaving our baby behind,” he narrated.

He added that the matter has been reported to the Nasarawa State Police command. He stated that no word has been heard from the abductors.
