FCT Police Summon Officers Filmed Assaulting Residents

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has summoned officers captured in a viral video assaulting residents in Abuja.

In a statement on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, said the Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.

According to the statement, the officers involved have been identified and directed to report to the command headquarters for questioning, while the victims have been contacted to assist with the investigation.

The police assured the public that disciplinary action would be taken against any officer found guilty of misconduct, reiterating the command’s commitment to professionalism and respect for human rights.
