Teenager commits su!cide in Makurdi

18-Year-Old Commits Suicide in Makurdi, Father Discovers Tragic Scene

An 18-year-old boy, identified as Tersoo Veregh, has reportedly taken his own life in Makurdi, Benue State.

The tragic discovery was made by his father, Mr. Veregh Nathaniel of Iorkyaako Street, High Level area of Makurdi, at about 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

According to reports, Nathaniel stepped out of his room to ease himself when he found his son hanging from the roof of their home.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘B’ Division, Makurdi, led a team of detectives to the scene, security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed.

The corpse was photographed and later evacuated to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital mortuary. 

The police said investigation into the incident was ongoing.
