Katsina communities hold meeting with armed bandits

The Charanci and Batagarawa Local Government Areas of Katsina State have joined ongoing peace efforts by holding a dialogue with armed Fulani groups residing in nearby forests.

The peace meeting, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, took place in Wurma town, Kurfi Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, the session was attended by the Chairman of Batagarawa LGA, Hon. Yahaya Lawal Kawo, representatives of Charanci LGA, traditional rulers, and delegates from the forest-based Fulani community.

The dialogue session reportedly ended on a positive note, as representatives of the Fulani groups pledged to embrace lasting peace and coexist peacefully with neighboring communities.
