Gunmen abduct doctor and lecturer in Nasarawa
Gunmen have abducted Dr. Michael Anazodo, a medical doctor at the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Lafia, from his residence in the Shabu area of the Nasarawa State capital on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at about 10:45 p.m.
On the same night, Mrs. Abiye Emezi, a lecturer at Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, was also kidnapped by armed men in the Shabu community.
Palpable fear has now gripped neighbors and other residents of the area following the unfortunate incident.
Neighboring residential areas, notably Sabon Pegi Shabu, Ombi I and II, had reportedly witnessed multiple incidents of kidnapping in the past few weeks, with little being done by the government to curtail the menace and ensure adequate security of lives and property.
