Terrorists kidnap travellers in Niger State
Terrorists have kidnapped an unspecified number of travellers along the Wawa–Luma Road in Borgo Local Government Area of Niger State.
Residents told Daily Trust that the attack, which started around 4 p.m., continued unchecked until about 7 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025.
One source said the gunmen ambushed two passenger vehicles heading to Gupanti and Lumma, abducting everyone on board.
“Two passenger vehicles were stopped, and all the occupants were taken away. Some of the travellers were from Lumma, while others were heading to Gupanti. Another car going to Papiri was shot at, but the driver managed to escape,” the source said.
“The terrorists rode on motorcycles, with each motorcycle carrying three armed men. One of those kidnapped was Mallam Umaru from Luma-Sanke.
“The attackers split into three groups — some were seen around Kale, others moved toward the Konkoje axis and the Wawa–Kaiama stretch, while the last group headed toward the Wawa–Luma axis.”
