Security Operatives Arrest Alleged Drug Supplier to Bandits in Kogi

The Joint Security Task Force (JTF) in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State has arrested a suspected logistics supplier accused of distributing hard drugs to bandits operating in the area.

The suspect, identified as Owoloja Femi, a native of Ejiba, was apprehended around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Odo-Eri along Saminaka Road, during a routine patrol by operatives of the task force.

According to reports, Femi was allegedly conveying illicit substances meant for bandits when he was intercepted. His accomplices, however, escaped on a motorcycle after offloading two cartons of the suspected drugs, leaving him behind as he attempted to flee.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Femi, who is the Chairman of the Okada Riders Association, Ejiba Branch, confessed to sourcing the drugs from a chemist in Egbe for onward delivery to his associates hiding in the forest.

Security personnel also recovered N600,000 from the suspect, believed to be proceeds or operational funds linked to the illicit trade.
