Jonathan airlifted to Nigeria after being trapped in Guinea-Bissau coup
Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has safely returned to Abuja after being evacuated from Guinea-Bissau following a military coup.
He arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Thursday evening, November 27.
Jonathan, who was in Guinea-Bissau as the head of the West African Elders Forum Election Observation Mission, had been monitoring last Sunday’s presidential and legislative elections when the military announced it had taken over power. His evacuation comes after growing concern among Nigerians regarding his safety.
Thankfully, he was airlifted out of the country this evening.
