Drama in Ilorin Court as Mother of Six Collapses After Husband Insists on Divorce
There was mild drama at an Area Court in Ilorin on Thursday, October 16, when a woman, Mulikat Yusuf, collapsed after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, insisted on ending their marriage.
Abdulganiyu told the court that he was no longer interested in continuing the union.
Earlier, Yusuf had pleaded with the court to save her marriage, saying she was not ready for a divorce after bearing six children for her husband and had nowhere else to go.
Moments after hearing her husband’s firm stance on the divorce, Yusuf reportedly walked out of the courtroom in distress and suddenly slumped.
The court officials revived her after splashing water on her.
The presiding Judge, Toyin Aluko, advised her to explore every opportunity within her reach to settle the misunderstanding between her and her husband.
The case was adjourned until December 10, for a report of settlement or hearing.
