Customs Officer K!lled as Bandits Attack Checkpoint in Niger State
Armed bandits have attacked a Customs checkpoint along the Luma–Babana Road in New Bussa, Niger State, killing a Customs officer.
The attack occurred on Saturday, October 18, 2025, after operatives intercepted suspected bandit informants and food suppliers transporting fuel in jerry cans on motorcycles at Luma Audu Fari-Kuka village.
Following the interception, the bandits reportedly stormed the area and opened fire, fatally shooting Suleiman Mohammed Bamazi, a Customs camp assistant from New Bussa.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the victim’s body has been evacuated to the General Hospital, New Bussa, for autopsy.
Efforts are underway to track down the assailants, while other areas in the axis remain calm and under control.
