Charlie Kirk’s accused shooter, Tyler Robinson, has made his first appearance in court.
Tyler Robinson, 22, made his first court appearance virtually on Tuesday, September 16, following his arrest for the alleged fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10.
Appearing via videolink before a Utah County courtroom, Robinson remained expressionless as Fourth District Court Judge Tony Graf Jr. read out the charges against him.
He spoke only to confirm his name and appeared to nod in acknowledgment when informed he would remain in custody without bail.
He has not yet been appointed an attorney.
His next hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 29.
The Utah County Attorney’s Office announced at a news conference today that Robinson is charged with aggravated murd£r and obstruction of justice, among other charges.
Prosecutors announced they will seek the de@th penalty.
The Utah judge overseeing Tyler Robinson’s prosecution issued a protective order today for Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk. The order bars Robinson from contacting her and warns of additional charges if he violates the order.
