Suspected Bandits K!ll Village Head in Niger State

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have brutally k!lled the Sarkin Fulani of Tungan-Madugu in Babanna District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The assailants reportedly invaded the residence of the 65-year-old village head, Abu Bani-Gene, in the early hours of Sunday, September 28, 2025, and hacked him to d3ath with machetes.

His remains were later taken to the General Hospital in Babanna, where they were deposited for autopsy.

Community members said arrangements were being made for his burial according to Islamic rites.

Authorities said efforts are ongoing to track those behind the attack.
