Actress Whoopi Goldberg has stirred controversy after suggesting that U.S. President Donald Trump should be removed from office following his recent speech at the United Nations.
Whoopi Goldberg is facing strong backlash after urging the removal of former U.S. President Donald Trump in response to his contentious speech at the United Nations General Assembly.
Speaking on The View on Wednesday, the veteran actress and TV host criticized Trump’s remarks as “not presidential” and “not helpful,” claiming that many world leaders no longer take him seriously.
According to the New York Post, Goldberg went a step further by suggesting the use of the 25th Amendment the constitutional provision that allows for a president to be removed if deemed unfit to serve.
“Well, they questioned Biden’s competence. If Biden had acted like this, I would have said, ‘Yeah, take him,’” Goldberg said. “This was not presidential and this was not helpful.”
Her statement immediately stirred heated reactions online.
“She was curiously silent during the dementia years of 2021–2025,” one critic wrote on X.
Another blasted her commentary, saying: “Why do we care what she has to say? Clearly she doesn’t understand what the 25th Amendment is. It’s not about disagreeing with the other party.”
