“14 Killed in Zamfara Boat Accident While Escaping Bandits”

A tragic boat accident in Zamfara State has claimed the lives of 14 people who were fleeing from bandit attacks. The incident occurred in the Nasarawa Kifi area of Gummi Local Government, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

Local sources revealed that the victims, mainly residents from nearby villages, were attempting to cross to safer areas when their overloaded boat capsized. Among the recovered bodies were nine children and five married women, underscoring the heavy toll on vulnerable groups.

Several passengers remain unaccounted for, and a search and rescue operation is ongoing to find survivors.

The tragedy highlights the dire security situation in Zamfara, where communities continue to live under the constant threat of banditry, and calls attention to the urgent need for stronger intervention and support to protect lives.

As the search continues, the fate of those still missing remains uncertain, leaving families and loved ones anxiously waiting for news.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the devastating impact of banditry on innocent lives and the need for collective action to ensure their safety and security.
