School abductions: FG denies nationwide closure of schools
The Federal Ministry of Education has denied issuing any directive for a nationwide closure of schools in response to recent student abductions.
In a statement released on Saturday, November 22, the ministry dismissed a widely circulated social media report claiming the Federal Government had ordered schools across the country to shut down. It described the report as false, misleading, and not traceable to any credible authority.
According to the ministry’s spokesperson, Folasade Boriowo, the alleged circular did not emanate from the Federal Government, the Ministry of Education, any state ministry of education, or any recognised security agency.
The ministry urged the public to disregard the rumour and rely solely on verified information from official sources.
