Police arrest suspected human trafficker with three children in Niger State
The Niger State Police Command has arrested a suspected human trafficker, identified as Victoria Ebunoha Chukwumezie, who was found with three children believed to have been abducted.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, revealed this in a statement on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He said the suspect claimed she took the children aged between two and three years from Lambata and was transporting them to Abuja “for care.”
The rescued children were identified as Kazeem, 3; Ya’amadu, 2; and Idris, 2.
The PPRO added that the children’s parents have already been contacted and that an investigation is ongoing.
“On November 5, 2025 at about 5pm, one Victoria Ebunoha Chukwumezie 40yrs of Nyanya, Abuja was sighted at Diko junction with three children suspected of being abducted for human trafficking,” the statement read.
The Police operatives of Gawu-Babangida Div stationed at Diko junction quickly moved in and arrested the said suspect, and during interrogation, she stated that she took the children, who are of 2-3yrs age range, from Lambata and she was taking them to Abuja for care.
“The children were identified as Kazeem 3yrs, Ya’amadu 2yrs and Idris 2yrs. The parents of the children have been contacted and investigation is ongoing.”
