Notorious bandit leader ‘Jankare’ k!lled by rival gang in Katsina
A notorious bandit leader, identified as Jankare, has been k!lled by a rival gang during a violent clash along the Dutsenma axis of Katsina State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the incident followed a dispute between Jankare and another bandit commander over control of criminal operations and territories in the area. Jankare, who had long terrorized communities across Dutsenma and nearby local government areas, was reportedly shot d3ad during the confrontation.
The slain bandit was infamous for masterminding numerous deadly attacks, kidnappings, and cattle rustling activities in the region.
He was also known for his active presence on TikTok, where he frequently displayed weapons and mocked security agencies.
Sources disclosed that Jankare recently attended a meeting convened by bandit leaders to resolve disputes and coordinate operations before his fallout with rivals led to his death.
Security operatives are said to be monitoring the situation closely to prevent possible reprisal attacks among the rival groups.
