Four Sisters Aged 2 to 7 Die in House Fire After Being Left Home Alone Overnight
Four young sisters, ages 2 to 7, tragically lost their lives in a house fire in North Carolina early Saturday morning, while two other girls managed to escape and raise the alarm.
The blaze broke out around 2:30 a.m. on August 30 at a home on North Colony Road, Columbus County Fire Marshal Shannon Blackman told CBS 17. No adults were present at the time.

Emergency crews from the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and Chadbourn Rescue arrived within seven minutes, but by then the house was already engulfed in flames, making it impossible to save the trapped children.

“Due to the severity of the fire, it was not possible to make a safe entry into the home,” Columbus County Sheriff Bill Rogers said in a news release.
Two Columbus County residents have now started a GoFundMe for the family.
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the tragic loss of Kendall, Kalani, Josie, and Sophia, who passed away in a house fire,” Ansley Hayes and B. Tyler Grainger wrote online.
