DSS warns public about dismissed officer allegedly defrauding citizens
The Department of State Services (DSS) has warned Nigerians against dealing with Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed operative accused of using the agency’s name to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the DSS urged members of the public to report any suspicious activity or inquiries directly to the Service.
“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby alerts members of the public to the activities of one Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed staff,” the statement read. “He has been reportedly engaging in fraudulent acts, using the name of the Service to deceive and extort innocent Nigerians.”
“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any dealings with him. For requests, enquiries or complaints the Service can be reached on 09088373515 or via email: dsspr@dss.gov.ng”
The advisory follows a similar alert last week concerning another dismissed officer, Barry Donald, who was also accused of exploiting the DSS name to deceive Nigerians. Authorities are urging vigilance and direct verification with the Service before engaging anyone claiming DSS affiliation.
