ANTP debunks reports of veteran actor Lere Paimo’s death, confirms he is alive and well

The Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP) has shut down rumours claiming that veteran Yoruba actor and cultural icon, Chief Olalere Osunpamo — widely known as Baba Eda Onile Ola has passed away.

In a statement released on Saturday, November 29, and signed by the National PRO, Adejonwo Oluwafemi, the association clarified that the reports circulating on Facebook are completely false.

According to ANTP, the actor’s wife personally confirmed that he is alive and in good health. The association described the rumours as the work of “unscrupulous individuals” trying to mislead the public, Punch reported.

ANTP urged Nigerians to always verify sensitive information before sharing, especially when it concerns the health or death of public figures, stressing that misinformation can cause unnecessary panic.
