Abuja Among Safest Cities in Nigeria – FCT Minister Wike
As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has affirmed that Abuja continues to stand out as one of the safest places to live in the country.
Wike credited this achievement to strong collaboration between the government and residents, noting their collective commitment to peace and harmony.
“Despite security challenges in some parts of the country, the FCT has remained a model of unity and safety,” he said. “Residents have been deliberate about coexisting peacefully despite occasional distractions. As a result, the FCT has become one of the most peaceful places to reside in Nigeria.”
The Minister commended citizens for their vigilance and cooperation, urging them to continue reporting suspicious movements and fully supporting the administration’s drive for law and order.
Wike stated that Abuja’s security record is proof that progress is attainable when citizens and government work together. “As we mark 65 years of nationhood, let us look forward with renewed hope. The FCT will continue to remain the symbol of our unity, our resilience, and now, one of the safest places to call home in Nigeria,” he said.
