Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the k!lling of a police officer in Bayelsa State.
The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with the k!lling of Police Constable Oboh Goodluck.
Goodluck was reportedly murdered by suspected cultists in the OMPADEC area of Amarata community, Yenagoa, in August 2025.
Speaking on Friday, September 26, during the Service of Songs and Lying-in-State for the late officer, the State Commissioner of Police, Francis Idu, vowed that all those involved in the crime would face justice.
CP Idu added that the prime suspect allegedly linked to multiple m8rder cases and currently on the police wanted list would soon be apprehended.
He warned that those involved in acts of violent attacks against the Police should be warned that the police authorities will use all arsenals in its disposal to ensure that they are brought to justice.
Idu assured the family of the deceased Police constable that that attacked a police man will face dire consequences and assured the men of the ranks and file that the top echelon of the Nigerian Police Force will have their backs irrespective of any circumstances.
“The deceased Constable acted within the law to confront and defend the people from harm against seven hoodlums. Goodluck Oboh gave his life to save the Bayelsa citizenry. If he had succeeded, he would have beaten his chest that he is a peacekeeper,” he said.
The Police Commissioner announced that a formal request will be sent to the State Governor, Senator Douye Siri to make the site of his k!lling a monument for him to be remembered.
The representative of the Ayadei/Oboh family, Comrade Kwokwo Robert, while appreciating the authorities of the Nigerian Police for the assistance in the final burial rites of the deceased Constable, called for Justice in the k!lling of their son.
“The relief we pray for as a family, is justice. Those responsible for the k!lling should also pay the supreme price.”
